UPDATED with new MoBros

Well the clocks will soon be going back and the nights will begin to get longer. Christmas is just around the corner but first there’s the small matter of Movember.

For those of you who haven’t heard of it, Movember is an opportunity for men around the world to look like plonkers while raising money for charity. Essentially, we start clean shaven on 1 November and then attempt to grow a moustache across the course of the month, hopefully raising some money along the way. The money raised is in support of men’s health issues, particularly testicular cancer and prostate cancer. The Movember movement started in Australia in 2003 and there are now formal campaigns in Australia, New Zealand, the US, Canada, the UK, South Africa, Ireland, Finland, the Netherlands, Spain, Denmark, Norway, Belgium and the Czech Republic. Last year nearly £80 million was raised for these worthy charities.

This year Keltie LLP is getting involved. So far 15 of us (Updated: now 19) have signed up to take part and you can find our team (Mo Keltie) here. Check out the link to see how we progress and if you feel like donating to the good cause then, on behalf of all of us, thank you very much.

Many of us haven’t grown any face furniture before. Our ‘tache heroes range from Tom Selleck (that’s a proper manly mo) to Jason King, 70’s psychedelic detective.

How will it turn out? Only time will tell but as Sean Cummings remarked yesterday “I have a packed social and business diary in November. I fear it will be empty in December“.

Mo Keltie’s MoBros are:

Peter Wiggett (Capt. Mo), Derek Holmes, Sean Markham, Mark Richardson, Sean Cummings, Nick Bowie, Dev Crease, Adam Newton, Hiren Gandhi, Joe Brannen, Kaya Elkiner, Alex Newsum, Lindsey Gordon-Thomas, Roy Scott,  Luigi Distefano, Gary Churchill, Mark Callaghan, Ben Britter and Azhar Sadique.

As with all these things, there are rules: each Mo Bro must begin the 1st of Movember with a clean shaven face. For the entire month each Mo Bro must grow and groom a moustache. There is to be no joining of the mo to the sideburns (that’s considered a beard), there’s to be no joining of the handlebars to the chin (that’s considered a goatee) and each Mo Bro must conduct himself like a true gentleman.

Check out the Mo style guide here.
