Mo badge smallIt’s Movember folks! The time of year when gentlemen around the world cultivate facial topiary to raise money for excellent causes. And so that they can look dashing, of course.

IPCopy is celebrating Movember with a run-down of our favourite moustache-related patents. Why some of these products are no longer available for purchase in a gentleman’s fashion establishment near you is a total mystery…

5. US 725632 – Moustache trainer

Is your moustache looking a bit unruly? Then the moustache trainer could be what you need! Filed back in 1902, this granted US patent is for a comb-like device you can use for training the ends of your moustache to get the curl that you want!

4. US 753906 – Moustache band

Is your moustache getting in the way when you eat? Try using this classy moustache band. “But wait”, I hear you cry, as you dip into your encycolpedic knowledge of moustache-related products, “moustache bands were already known back in 1903 when this was filed! How did they get a patent!?”. Well, this one’s washable you see. Clever.

3. US 1042940 – Moustache guard

Moustache band not quite doing the trick? Try this ferocious-looking ‘moustache guard’ instead. The handy ‘moustache-engaging-features’ (combs) hold it in place on your face while you eat, drink and look completely normal.

2. US 2001/0090415 – Composition and methods for promoting lush hair growth

Envious of your friends’ thick, glossy moustaches, while yours is looking a bit thin? Look no further than this patent for promoting lush hair growth of moustaches.

And in at number 1…

1. KR 101193975 – Spraying device of artificial moustache in powder form

Not partaking in Movember this year, and jealous of your friends’ glorious face furniture? All is not lost – you can join in by spraying on a moustache with this handy artificial moustache sprayer. Now no one need be left out!

And that’s your lot, folks. If you’d like a good chuckle, click here to see Keltie’s Movember efforts last year. In the meantime, happy Movember!
